Peter Crouch and Ally McCoist were in agreement that Mohamed Salah's touchline spat with Jurgen Klopp during the 2-2 draw at West Ham United was not a flattering look for Liverpool.

Darwin Nunez, also prepping to enter the action as Liverpool looked to add to earlier goals from Andy Robertson and an own-goal from Alphonse Areola, played the role of mediator as he tried to quash the tension between the pair just seconds before Michail Antonio headed West Ham level.

Analysing the situation for TNT Sports after the game, Crouch and McCoist insisted it was a bad look for Salah, who has scored just two goals in his last eight Premier League games.

"It didn’t look good.

I am not a lip reader so I can’t tell exactly what they are saying but it didn’t look good," said Crouch.

I think players like that who expect to start are never happy, but no one likes to see this on the side of the pitch between the manager and a real key player."

Meanwhile, McCoist said: "Not good, not good at all.

"Listen, we have both been in dressing rooms when it happens and you don’t agree with what the manager has said and there are crosswords, but it does not look good.

I think it might be one of these situations where it suits both parties."

Salah has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal at Anfield and has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, with Al-Ittihad having had a £150m bid rejected for the forward last summer.

Speaking after the game at the London Stadium, which left Liverpool two points behind leaders Arsenal - who have a game in hand, Klopp said he had spoken to Salah in the dressing room and considered the incident dealt with: "We spoke already in the dressing room," said the Reds boss.
