Liverpool now know that the man in charge of their summer transfer business will be Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Of course, Slot will have to answer to Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards in the transfer market, but players signed will be coming in to feature in Slot’s team.

Prior to an agreement being struck with Feyenoord for Slot on Friday night, there had already been plenty of transfer rumours regarding Liverpool.



Liverpool could do with a new centre-back and so it seems likely that the someone like David Hancko will be talked about in the months ahead.

But as well as bringing in a defender, the Reds also arguably need some reinforcements in midfield again.

And speaking exclusively to Rousing The Kop, journalist Graeme Bailey has named four who could be considered by Slot.

Having brought in four new midfielders last summer, some fans will argue that Liverpool are well sorted in that area of the first-team squad.

However, with Wataru Endo in particular struggling of late, we think it’s clear that the Reds need to do some business.

And according to Bailey, it’s likely that FSG agree.

“There’s clearly players they like and will be looing at, from the [Khephren] Thuram’s to the Quinten Timber’s, [Mats] Wieffer at Feyenoord.

“They’re looking at players all over Europe – Joao Neves as well is one who they’ve always liked.”

There have been suggestions that Stefan Bajcetic is the player Liverpool have earmarked as their long-term No.6.

“You want to create that good problem – have two people fighting for the position, not having someone coming in and filling in which is the current state of play.”

So, Thuram, Timber, Wieffer and Neves may all be players to watch over the summer months, Reds!
