Liverpool have reportedly been monitoring the development of Palmeiras teenager Luis Guilherme ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old has swiftly made his mark in the Palmeiras midfield, featuring prominently with 19 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A last year and also contributing in the Copa Libertadores.

Additionally, he has begun to accrue international experience, representing Brazil’s Under-20 side on five occasions, following his impressive stint of three goals in just four appearances for the Under-16s.

Joao Paulo Sampaio, Palmeiras’ youth director, said: “We played in a tournament in Japan and Luis scored over 40 goals.

“The Japanese players were scared of him.

But Luis doesn’t get carried away.

He’s a very special player.”

A move to Europe looks inevitable with several clubs monitoring his process so far this season this season.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, “Liverpool have not made any bid despite reports, but keep scouting him as Arsenal and Bayern.”

“The release clause into his contract is worth €55m.”

Guilherme scored his first senior goal for Palmeiras on Thursday, netting in a 3-2 Copa Libertadores win over Independiente?

In total, he has amassed 38 appearances for the club at the senior level.

The South American is a key player for the Brazilian champions Palmeiras, sharing the field with another emerging talent, Endrick, who has already sealed a move to Real Madrid, underlining the growing recognition of these young wonders on the global football stage.

Liverpool, meanwhile are on the lookout for a new manager following Jurgen Klopp’s decision to step down from his position at the end of the season.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot has been identified as the preferred candidate for the role after Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim emerged as hot favourites.
