Jurgen Klopp has reacted after Liverpool secured a 4-2 victory over Tottenham at Anfield, dealing a blow to the visitors’ hopes of Champions League qualification.
The Reds dominated the opening hour of the match, with Mohamed Salah heading them in front early on.
Andy Robertson then doubled Liverpool’s lead with a goal just before half-time.
Cody Gakpo extended Liverpool’s advantage with a headed goal after the break, and Harvey Elliott further punished Tottenham’s defensive lapses with a stunning long-range strike for the fourth.
Ange Postecoglou’s side showed resilience by pulling back two goals, courtesy of substitute Richarlison and Heung-Min Son.
However, it wasn’t enough to salvage a result for Spurs, who suffered their first four-game losing streak in the Premier League in 20 years.
Klopp told Sky Sports: “We are outstanding until we are not.
“I would say three points is enough and the boys thought that.
“We were 4-0 up, I made the changes and we lost organisation.
I was happy with the performance.
“We were good in pretty much all areas offensively.
The goals were outstanding.
“Mo [Salah] was outstanding, he played a really good game.
If we win all three then we can achieve the fifth highest points tally of Liverpool.
“I would be lying if I said I was at my highest emotion but I have another game.
