Jurgen Klopp has been addressing the media ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham on Saturday.
It is yet another early kick-off for the Reds, with the match set to commence at 12:30 BST.
After the disappointment of the Merseyside derby, Liverpool should be itching to put things right.
It follows a period that has seen the Klopp’s final season implode, with many of the defeats to the likes of Atalanta and Crystal Palace self-inflicted.
This outcome at Goodison Park was especially disappointing as it unfolded during Jurgen Klopp’s final games at the helm, dampening the hopes of many Liverpool fans for a victorious farewell for the German.
Rather than concluding his tenure with a Premier League title, it appears Klopp may face a challenging and disheartening conclusion to the season.
Meanwhile, like Liverpool, West Ham was also eliminated from the Europa League last week and is looking to finish their domestic season on a high note.
Currently sitting in 8th place, the Hammers are hopeful of securing a spot in the Conference League by season’s end.
The last defeat Liverpool faced at the London Stadium was during the 2021/22 season in a gripping 3-2 match.
In their earlier meeting this season at Anfield, Liverpool claimed a 3-1 victory.
Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Mohamed Salah were all on the scoresheet, ensuring Liverpool took all three points.
Cody Gakpo update
Speaking in his pre-West Ham press conference, the German provided an update on Cody Gagpo
On Gakpo, who missed the Merseyside derby due to his partner going into labour, Klopp said:
“Everything fine, mum well, boy well, father well and back in training yesterday.”
Then on the disappointing Everton result, Klopp said:
“I can’t remember I have ever been as disappointed and frustrated after a game.
I blame myself.”
