The Reds have been linked with a host of managers since Klopp announced his exit plans back in January but Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is now a leading candidate to take over.
The Dutchman led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season and came close to joining Tottenham.
He opted to remain in the Netherlands but made no secret of his desire to manage in the Premier League— in his words, 'the best in the world'.
Should Slot be the man chosen to replace Klopp, he will be testing himself against the very best.
His attacking approach has already seen him compared to Pep Guardiola and Feyenoord will not want to lose him.

The 45-year-old will also come up against Mikel Arteta, if he moves to Anfield, after the pair clashed over Reiss Nelson back in 2021.
Slot had just taken over at Feyenoord and signed Nelson on loan in one of his first pieces of transfer business.
Nelson picked up an injury soon after arriving at Feyenoord and Slot suggested that was down to Arsenal's training methods.
"Nelson had participated in almost all training sessions at Arsenal, but he experiences the training here as a bit more intense," Slot said, reports The Mirror.
The Gunners ace did not feature until October and then struggled to break into Slot's starting line-up until the new year.
Slot and Mourinho were then seen walking down the tunnel after the match with SportBible claiming the Portuguese yelled at his opponent: "You are looking at Napoli, but you should be watching us!"
Liverpool.com says: The Reds were always going to need a strong character to take over from Klopp and in Slot, they may just have found it.
