Liverpool is eyeing another incredible European comeback against Atalanta but Jürgen Klopp could have just six matches left in charge after Thursday's second leg.

Klopp will depart at the end of the season and his side has plenty of work to do to ensure his tenure ends with more silverware.

The Reds trail Atalanta 3-0 from the quarter-final first leg at Anfield and Sunday's defeat to Crystal Palace means they are now two points adrift of Manchester City in the Premier League table.

The search for the German's successor remains ongoing with Liverpool still carrying out extensive research on a number of candidates, although Rúben Amorim remains the frontrunner.

Amorim is continuing to impress at Sporting CP and his side is on the verge of a league and cup double.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims he is keen on a return to club football and has held 'advanced negotiations' with Bayern Munich.

Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern last season but Thomas Tuchel, another name on the betting shortlist for the Liverpool job, will depart at the end of the campaign.
