Graeme Souness was at Old Trafford yesterday as Manchester United eventually saw off Liverpool in a thriller.
Souness was back in the pundit game alongside Roy Keane and Ian Wright.
The former Liverpool man was as vocal as ever in his opinions in what was a stunning game of football.
For Souness, who has a bias towards Liverpool, being nice about the Manchester United players doesn’t come quite as easy to him.
And speaking to Simon Jordan on TalkSPORT, Souness has admitted that as it stands, there’s only one Man United player who actually makes the entire Liverpool squad.
Speaking alongside Jordan on where United and Liverpool are at right now, Souness admitted he only sees Bruno Fernandes as having enough talent to stake a claim for Liverpool’s squad, never mind the first XI.
“Yeah, I think we are.
Him in a different environment… I think he would get in both the City squad and the Liverpool squad.
But he has qualities,” Souness said.

While it’s open to healthy debate, the fact that Fernandes has done it over such a long period of time in England would probably give him an edge over some of Liverpool’s squad.
In the midfield, we’ve got the likes of Szoboszlai and Endo in the midfield three and you could make an argument that Fernandes gets in ahead of either of those.
Nevertheless, the fact someone like Souness can only come up with one name from United who makes Liverpool’s entire squad says a lot.
This current United squad isn’t what is used to be.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are well set for a few years now, even though Jurgen Klopp is going on his merry way.
