Monday was a big day of news in Liverpool’s search for their potential new manager.
The Reds are starting to run out of time as they deliberate the ideal candidate to follow in Jurgen Klopp’s enormous footsteps.
With just weeks of the season remaining, an appointment really needs to happen soon.
However, Portuguese outlets have clarified that the 39-year-old actually jetted in to negotiate with West Ham, not the Reds.
But, thankfully, things are starting to make more sense.

Amorim would have been many people’s choice to be in charge of the Liverpool first-team next season.
The former Benfica midfielder looks set to win a second title in four years with Sporting.
As one of the top young managers in Europe, Amorim would feel an ambitious appointment from FSG.
However, according to TeamTALK, West Ham’s pursuit of the Portuguese has now focused Liverpool’s attention on a different candidate.
It’s claimed that the Reds are now ‘seriously considering’ making a big push to secure Brentford manager Thomas Frank.
Frank is said to have ‘plenty of admirers’ at Liverpool and efforts to make him Klopp’s successor will reportedly be ‘intensified’ in light of West Ham’s interest in Amorim.
The 50-year-old is claimed to be happy at Brentford, although would ‘find it difficult to turn down’ the Liverpool job should it fall into his lap.
It’s hard to escape the likelihood that Frank would be seen as an underwhelming appointment at Liverpool to follow on from Klopp.
However, the Dane is certainly held in high regard by Jurgen himself.
After Liverpool beat Brentford in November last year, the Bees’ boss hailed the Egypytian as the best player in the Premier League [Liverpool ECHO].
