Taking over the reign at Liverpool after Klopp may prove to be one of the hardest but most appeasing challenges for any manager in world football right now, however, today whilst speaking with NBC Sports, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein revealed that Liverpool favourite Ruben Amorim is “not a shoo-in” and “not necessarily the top option” for the Liverpool job and that Liverpool may go after someone beyond the “obvious candidates.”
Is Liverpool’s Title Challenge Over?
“Liverpool are looking at a number of options, no doubt.
They won’t be looking for applause; they’ll be looking to make the right decision for Liverpool Football Club based on the style of play – high tempo, energy, and exciting brand of football.
They’ll be looking for someone to connect with supporters and really energise them as well, somebody who has a good track record on injuries and player availability, and somebody who also will make sure that players will improve, lots of which has been done by Jurgen Klopp.”

Redmen Reacts
Ruben Amorim seems to suit these principles, however, many Liverpool fans will have full faith in Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes to make the correct decision, with Michael Edwards being notorious for finding more obscure talent.
Recent reports have also emerged of former Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac being a major candidate on Liverpool’s shortlist.
Despite being dismissed from Bayern Munich and not lasting more than two years at any club he has been with, Kovac plays football in line with Klopp’s footballing philosophy and with his counter-attacking football he may be someone to keep an eye on as the end of Klopp’s tenure nears.
Sky Sports Germany has also reported that previous Liverpool target Julian Nagelsmann is on track to resign from his old club Bayern Munich once Thomas Tuchel vacates, further narrowing the crop of managers open to joining Liverpool after favourite Xabi Alonso confirmed he would be staying with Bayer Leverkusen for the foreseeable future.
