Liverpool had little cause for celebration on Saturday after failing to secure a victory against West Ham United.

Fans had anticipated a strong response from their team following a disappointing performance in Wednesday’s Merseyside Derby.

However, while there were improvements in certain aspects, the anticipated reaction never fully materialized, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Jarrod Bowen’s goal was levelled by Andy Robertson’s effort, followed by an own goal from Alphonse Areola and a header from Michail Antonio.

In truth, there were few standout performances for Liverpool to applaud.

Although Jurgen Klopp praised Jarell Quansah post-match, one player who deserved recognition was Robertson.

However, according to The Athletic’s James Pearce, the 30-year-old as well as youngster Harvey Elliott may have sustained an injury during the match.

“Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott both limping through the mixed zone,” Pearce posted on X.

There was no update from Klopp regarding whether Robertson and Elliott had sustained a knock during the game.

“How I said, four games in 10 days.

If you can find a manager who can play the same team in four games… I said that will be in the next generation, not me anymore,” the German said at his post-match press conference.

“I try to do what I think is right and I thought the boys who came on did really well.

Cody didn’t start the last game because of his private situation.

Harvey [Elliott] played really well.

“Jarell [Quansah] did really well.

“But he played a really good game and is super-important for us?

I tried to do the right thing [with the line-up].”
