A former Liverpool man has been open in his assessment of his job at Eintracht Frankfurt so far. Albert Riera, the former Liverpool and Spain winger, was the man they turned to who had mainly made his name in Slovenian football.
For those who don’t remember Riera from his playing days, he spent two seasons at Liverpool between 2008 and 2010 under Rafael Benitez – making 56 appearances for the Reds. Frankfurt arrived into his tenure having already endured a torrid Champions League campaign, including a 5–1 hammering at home to Liverpool.
“We have to do better in defending.” He then added that he will “step down” immediately if he does not know how to fix the problems, but still asserts he knows how to solve them: “If I ever don’t know the problem, I will step down immediately,” Riera said. Albert Riera Eintracht Frankfurt
