Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s time with Liverpool could soon come to an end. Van Bronckhorst joined Arne Slot’s coaching staff last summer following the departure of John Heitnga, who took up a second stint in charge of Ajax.
But the former Arsenal midfielder is now being tipped to follow in his compatriot’s footsteps by rejoining a former employer according to reports in the Netherlands. AD claim that Feyenoord have identified Van Bronckhorst as their preferred candidate to succeed outgoing technical director Dennis te Kloese this summer.
If appointed, Van Bronckhorst would reunite with ex- international teammate Robin van Persie, who was appointed the Rotterdam club’s head coach this season. Van Bronckhorst’s departure would be the third suffered by the Reds’ backroom staff under Slot after Heitinga and set-piece coach Aaron Briggs’ December exit.
