He said: “It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool.
It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long-term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it.” Image via Liverpool FC on YouTube Want more Empire of the Kop coverage?
It’s taken quite some time, but Liverpool finally have Barcola through the door; and unlike with Alexander Isak 12 months ago, they didn’t have to wait until the final hours of deadline day for the transfer to be confirmed. Having the transfer completed today will give him time on the training ground with Andoni Iraola ahead of the fixture at Portman Road, so hopefully the 23-year-old will have become somewhat familiarised with the head coach’s tactical setup by then.
