New Liverpool Signing Returns from Injury
Liverpool FC's new signing Mor Talla Ndiaye has returned to training after a minor issue flagged during his medical. The 18-year-old defender joined from Senegalese club Amitie, having featured at the FIFA U17 World Cup and represented Senegal at U18 level. He is one of two defensive recruits alongside Noah Adekoya from Burnley.[1]
Under-21 coach Rob Page provided an update following Liverpool U21s' 4-3 Premier League 2 victory over West Bromwich Albion. Goals from Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha, and Kieran Morrison secured the win. Page confirmed: “Mor is on the grass. We had to shut him down for the first few weeks... Nothing too significant to worry about, but just something that we had to manage. Thankfully, now he’s back on the grass, and I beat him in head tennis last week.” Ndiaye has yet to join the U21s squad.[1]
This positive news comes amid Liverpool's injury challenges. The first team kept FA Cup hopes alive with a 3-0 win over Brighton at Anfield, thanks to goals from Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, and a Mohamed Salah penalty. Next up: Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fifth round and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on February 22.[1]
Several players remain sidelined. Wataru Endo missed the Brighton game with an ankle injury from Sunderland, facing an extended absence though a late-season return is possible.[1][2][3][4] Jeremie Frimpong recovers from a thigh/groin issue, potentially available soon, perhaps against Forest or West Ham on February 28.[1][2][3]
- Alexander Isak: Broken leg since December; targeting March 2026 return, with recent individual training progress.[1][2][3][5][6]
- Giovanni Leoni: ACL tear on debut; out until September 2026.[1][2][3][5]
- Conor Bradley: Knee surgery after Arsenal draw; season-ending, return summer 2026.[1][2][3][5]
Page also noted awaiting scan results for Keyrol Figueroa, ruling out a quick return. Liverpool continues managing its squad depth amid title defense and cup runs.[1]
