The 19-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee on his debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup last September.Leoni, who joined Liverpool from Parma, is in the final stages of his recovery, with head coach Arne Slot recently praising his commitment during rehabilitation and his work in the gym.Slot said: “If you look at Giovanni Leoni, I don’t know if you once in a while see some Instagram posts from the club, this guy becomes a beast!”The Reds will return to the United States for their pre-season tour this summer, with fixtures against Sunderland, Wrexham, and Leeds United scheduled across Nashville, New York, and Chicago.Liverpool’s pre-season preparations are expected to be impacted by the 2026 World Cup, with several players potentially returning late.
