That’s the most important thing at the minute and then the season will follow.”Slot used Nyoni perfectly last seasonAlthough he could have perhaps brought him on a little earlier in a number of his 14 appearances last season, Slot’s use of Nyoni in 25/26 was generally perfectly fine.As the 19-year-old himself acknowledges, he spent a whole year acclimatising to the first-team set-up, while also making valuable strides on the pitch as well.In such a poor season for Liverpool, the danger could have been that Slot threw Nyoni into a dysfunctioning side, which could easily have destroyed his confidence.Conversely, Nyoni’s path could have been the same one that Stefan Bajcetic followed in 2022/23, when the young Spaniard played far too much football, and sadly has not been the same since.
