Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has explained what Jürgen Klopp's message was at half-time before the exchange with a frustrated Mohamed Salah dominated the headlines from the London Stadium.

It was a game that Liverpool needed to win to maintain any hopes of a late push for the league title, and that saw tensions rise during a heated exchange between Salah and Klopp.

Cody Gakpo, speaking during his post-match interview, revealed Klopp’s message at halftime.

But West Ham came back to rescue a point before dressing room tensions boiled over with Klopp and Salah's argument.

Liverpool.com says: With Antonio's equalizer effectively knocking Liverpool out of the Premier League title race, it is understandable that tensions were high, which could explain Mohamed Salah's comments in the mixed zone after the game.

It's worth remembering that it's not the first time that Salah has showed his frustration.

At the start of the season he wasn't happy when coming off as a substitute on opening day against Chelsea, and falling short of the league title will be a huge disappointment.

In a more positive light, Liverpool fans should also remember that this season was about rebuilding and finding a way back into the Champions League.
