Ryan Gravenberch’s journey to Liverpool began in the esteemed youth academy of Ajax, where he developed into one of Europe’s most promising midfield talents.

Known for his technical skill, vision, and ability to control the midfield, Gravenberch made significant strides at Ajax, earning accolades and experience in both domestic and European competitions.

He made over 100 appearances for the Dutch giants before the age of 21, highlighted his potential as a world-class talent.

An ill-fated transfer to Bayern Munich at the in the summer of 2022 caused his career to stagnate a little.

Thomas Tuchel did not seem to rate Ryan Gravenberch that highly, and the lack of gametime frustrated the young midfielder.

With time running out in the past summer transfer window, Liverpool leaped in to securing his signature to bolster their midfield options in the final days of the window – forking over the approximate €40 million to Bayern Munich.

While Gravenberch has not pulled up any trees in his brief time at Anfield so far, he has also not been in a disappointment.

He would have surely liked to feature more than he has this season however.

The 21-year-old has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this campaign, but only 11 have come as a starter.

Ryan Gravenberch certainly took his chance when granted a start against Fulham this past weekend.

The Dutch international placed a well-guided strike from just outside of the box to give Liverpool the lead at 2-1.

It was his first Premier League goal in Liverpool colors.

Across all competitions, Gravenberch has made 35 appearances managing four goals and two assists in the process.

Ryan Gravenberch subject of transfer links

Last week Friday, Turkish outlet Fotomaç sprung a surprise report claiming that Turkish giants Galatasaray were keen in signing Ryan Gravenberch before the Euros kicked-off in the summer.

They also reported that Galatasaray were contacting the player’s agent over a deal in the summer or beyond.

However, Sky Germany have refuted these claims, stating that Gravenberch is focused on succeeding on Liverpool.

Sky state:

“Ex-Bavaria pro Ryan Gravenberch drew attention to himself with a remarkable goal at the 3-1 win of Liverpool FC and scored his first Premier League goal.”

“The Dutchman has been used in 34 competitive matches for the Reds so far, but often only from the bench.”

“Recently, rumors about a possible change of loan to Galatasaray Istanbul are running.”

“However, this does not match up with Sky information?

The view of Gravenberch , however, is clear: he wants to stay and prevail at Liverpool.”

It would be too premature to write-off Ryan Gravenberch.

It is still his first full season at the club after plenty of change from Ajax to Bayern, and then to Anfield.

He has already racked up 11 caps for the Netherlands despite his young age, and could prove to be a key player for Liverpool in the coming years.
