Andy Robertson is set for an early reunion with Liverpool. Robertson ended a nine-year association with Anfield this summer in which he won eight major honours including two Premier League titles.

But Robertson will return to Merseyside earlier than anticipated after Tottenham were drawn against his old club in the Carabao Cup’s third round. Roberto De Zerbi’s side sealed a trip to Anfield courtesy of a 5-1 rout over Charlton Athletic in Tuesday’s second round.
Robertson, who joined the north Londoners as a free agent in the summer, was an unused substituted for the encounter. One-time Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is also in line to face his former employers next month and scored the game’s second goal.
