Jamie Carragher has reacted to his former Liverpool team-mate Xabi Alonso being named Chelsea's next manager. Consequently, Alonso has not been in contact with Liverpool of late and he has joined their Premier League rivals Chelsea instead.Liverpool fan Carragher, who played 199 times alongside Alonso, insists he truly hopes his friend is successful with the Londoners and said he has told the Spaniard as much over the phone.He told Sky Sports: "I think it's a great move for Chelsea.
I don't know just because it hasn't been a great move for any Chelsea manager for how long now, three or four years?"No-one's really got their teeth into it and made a success of it. I know there's been a lot made of the fact that he's not the head coach, he's the manager, in terms of his title."Whether that makes that much difference I don't know.
