The Blues have now been hit with a nine-month academy transfer ban, though, and that is claimed to be a ‘big help’ to Liverpool’s case of keeping him.Other sides are clearly still interested, but the Reds are also reportedly pushing to keep Abe at Anfield. The Mail claim that there has been a ‘charm offensive’ on Liverpool’s part to show him a pathway to the first-team, while there is also said to be a genuine belief that he is already good enough to justify a spot in senior training.Either way, Abe reportedly underwent successful surgery for his injury this week, and with one potential destination out of the way, his chances of staying at Liverpool have just improved ever so slightly.
