With the summer transfer window finally open, Liverpool is closing in on its first signing of the market, as Spanish winger Victor Munoz looks set to join from OsasunaVictor Munoz has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer(Image: (Photo by Ulrik Pedersen/NurPhoto via Getty Images))Liverpool is wasting no time in the transfer market, as the first signing of the window is being teed up in the form of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz. The Reds have been keen on making attacking additions over the course of the summer, following the exit of Mohamed Salah as well as the general struggles in front of goal last season. While progress is being made to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, a rather quicker deal is being secured for Munoz, as Fabrizio Romano reports that a move is set to be finalized in the coming days.Munoz, 22, was born in Barcelona in Catalonia, where he joined the local club's famous La Masia academy at the age of 11 until 14, when he left for Damm. The winger spent several years there, until he made the switch to Real Madrid in 2021, where he continued to rise through the ranks of the youth team.In late 2025, Munoz finally made his breakthrough for the first team, featuring in La Liga and the Club World Cup over the summer months, before a transfer came calling.Fellow Spanish club Osasuna made a move in 2025, sealing a deal for just $5.7 million, as the forward looked to establish himself further in senior soccer.Victor Munoz could be a bargain purchase for Liverpool in the summer transfer window(Image: (Photo by Cesar Ortiz Gonzalez/Soccrates/Getty Images))Munoz managed just that, featuring 36 times for Osasuna, scoring seven goals and bagging five assists with some impressive performances to go with it, sealing himself as one of the most promising prospects in Spanish soccer as a result. His play style surrounds his pace and hard work, as Mundo Deportivo reports that he was among one of the quickest players in La Liga last season.Of those 36 appearances for Osasuna, Munoz featured 18 times on the left flank, 10 times on the right, and four times as a striker, displaying great versatility. It's no surprise that, as a result, he was given a call-up to the Spain national team squad for the World Cup in America this summer, joining up with one of the tournament's favorites to go all the way.The former Real Madrid man has two international caps to his name, both in March of this year, but is still waiting for his World Cup debut."Could he play for Real Madrid?
I think he's a lad with tremendous footballing potential," Spain boss Luis de la Fuente said in May when asked about Munoz."And he's shown with the national team, at the highest international level, that he's ready to compete at that level too. I'm sure he'll make a great impression."That impression has certainly lasted on a few teams, as Premier League side Newcastle appeared ready to pounce, but will miss out after Fabrizio Romano reported that Liverpool is going to sign the winger for a bargain $46 million fee.
